Your First Fruits And Your Inheritance Of Faith Expressed.
Deuteronomy 26 1-10 CEB 26 Once you have entered the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you take possession of it and are settled there, 2 take some of the early produce of the fertile ground that you have harvested from the land the Lord your God is giving you, and put it in a basket. Then go to the location the Lord your God selects for his name to reside. 3 Go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him: “I am declaring right now before the Lord my God that I have indeed arrived in the land the Lord swore to our ancestors to give us.” 4 The priest will then take the basket from you and place it before the Lord your God’s altar. 5 Then you should solemnly state before the Lord your God: “My father was a starving Aramean. He went down to Egypt, living as an immigrant there with few family members, but that is where he became a great nation, mighty and numerous. 6 The Egyptians treated us terribly, oppressing us and forcing hard labor on us. 7 So we cried out for help to the Lord, our ancestors’ God. The Lord heard our call. God saw our misery, our trouble, and our oppression. 8 The Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, with awesome power, and with signs and wonders. 9 He brought us to this place and gave us this land—a land full of milk and honey. 10 So now I am bringing the early produce of the fertile ground that you, Lord, have given me.” When the people of God entered into the promised land or place of divine inheritance. God wanted His people to put aside the firstfruits and take it to the priest, then declare a statement of proclamation. Recognizing what God had done for them, and the deliverance He had procured through His divine grace. When you give and plant your seed of time, talent and treasure. Remember to give thanks to God, and proclaim His goodness with a thankful heart. Put aside your first fruits and prioritize your life in such a way, that it honors Him. Make the Lord and His Kingdom priority, and in doing so God will honor your investment of time, talent and treasure into His treasury of Grace. The leadership here at CGMF really do appreciate your sacrifice and love for His Kingdom. Your witness of God's love in all you do is always a reflection of His Grace. Thank you for all those who have given to help those in need through our Benevolence Fund the past few months, and your gifts of groceries to many families in need. It has been an extravagant expression of love to our needy church members, and those in our communities struggling in these trying times. God bless you all. Keep on sharing your faith such lavish expressions of love. It must bless the Father so much to see such faith in demonstration. Amen. In His Grace, Reverend Patrick Vossen PS. Remember you can always donate through our PayPal Donate button on most our CGMF pages. We are thankful we have had that available, as it has not been very conducive for many to give otherwise the past few months. Our founding pastor has shared his first message with us since surgery over a month ago. It is entitled, Faith And Wisdom. Twin Towers To Understanding. This will be part of a year long series of lessons he will endeavor to share with us in the year to come.
