Come and Explore: What It Means To Be the Christian Church Every week, God gives us another opportunity to grow—together, in unity, in understanding, and in faith. This week’s message, “The Christian Church,” invites us to slow down, open the Scriptures, and rediscover who we are called to be as the people of God. If you’ve ever wondered how the Church grows, what holds it together, or what role you play in its life and mission, I’d love for you to spend some time with the study notes linked to this message. They walk through two powerful passages—Mark 4:26–32 and Ephesians 4:4–6, 11–18—and offer a rich, accessible look at the Church’s identity, unity, and purpose. Why These Notes Matter In Mark 4, Jesus reminds us that God’s kingdom grows in ways we cannot always see. Like a seed sprouting quietly in the soil or a mustard seed becoming a great tree, the Church grows by God’s power—often slowly, often subtly, but always surely. In Ephesians 4, Paul shows us what that growth looks like in real life: one body, one Spirit, one hope. Christ gives gifts to His people so that the whole Church can mature, stand firm, and reflect His character in the world. These notes unpack these themes with clarity and depth, helping us see how unity, maturity, and Christ-like love shape the Church today. A Call to Stand Firm You’ll also find a powerful reflection on Martin Luther’s courage at the Diet of Worms—his unwavering commitment to truth, unity, and faithfulness. His “Here I stand” moment isn’t just history; it’s a reminder of what the Church must stand for in every generation. Listen, Learn, and Grow With Us Alongside these notes, I encourage you to listen to the sermon message that accompanies them. Hearing the Word preached brings these truths to life in a way that written notes alone cannot. Together, the notes and the message offer a full picture—Scripture explained, applied, and lived out. Whether you’re part of our Covenant of Grace family or simply exploring what it means to belong to the body of Christ, I invite you to:
