Join Us at Covenant of Grace for a Fresh Look at Psalm 121
Date: Today
Time: 2:00pm – 3:30 pm (followed by fellowship coffee)
Location: Covenant of Grace

Why Psalm 121?

Psalm 121, “God’s Unfailing Guard,” is a timeless pilgrimage song that reminds us where true help comes from--the Maker of heaven and earth. In a world that constantly presents new “mountains” to climb—whether they’re personal challenges, work pressures, or global uncertainties—this psalm points us back to the One who never slumbers, never rests, and stands beside us as a cool shade at our right hand.

Our study today will draw on a beautifully crafted devotional guide that breaks the psalm into eight verses, each paired with a key promise, a personal takeaway, and reflection questions designed to make the ancient text speak directly into our everyday lives.

What We'll Explore

Verse 1
Lifting our eyes to the “mountains” we face and asking, “Where are my mountains today?”

Verses 2‑4
Understanding God as the ever‑watchful Keeper whose vigilance never wanes.

Verse 5
Visualizing God’s shade at our right hand—an intimate, protective presence.

Verses 6‑7
Experiencing all‑time cover: protection from both the glaring sun and the hidden moon, and safeguarding our hearts from evil.

Verse 8
Walking confidently through every departure and return, knowing God walks every mile with us.

Each segment will include a brief teaching, a group discussion of the reflection questions, and a moment of prayer to personalize the promises for our own journeys.

How You Can Participate
  1. Come ready to engage – Bring a notebook or a device for jotting down insights.
  2. Share your “mountains.” – Feel free to voice the challenges you’re facing; the group will pray together for God’s steadfast guard over each one.
  3. Stay for coffee. – After the study, we’ll gather informally to continue the conversation and build community.

A Quick Glimpse at the Study Guide
“He who keeps you will not slumber… He will keep your going out and your coming in, now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:4‑8 (CEB)

The guide we’ll use includes visual reminders (e.g., the image of a steady lantern on a mountain ridge) and practical prompts such as:
  • Reflection Question: Which promise from Psalm 121 gives me the most peace right now?
  • Personal Takeaway: Picture God as a cool shade on a hot day, always close.
These tools help bridge the ancient text to modern life, encouraging us to walk out of the meeting with tangible reminders of God’s unfailing guard.

Invite a Friend!Feel free to forward this invitation, share the link on social media, or simply bring someone along who could use a fresh dose of divine reassurance.
Let’s lift our eyes together, trust in the One who never sleeps, and experience the peace that comes from walking under His eternal shade.

We look forward to seeing you at Covenant of Grace today!
