Campmeeting On The Plains!!!

Covenant of Grace Ministry & Fellowship’s "Campmeeting on the Plains" returned to the North Platte, Nebraska area from July 29th through Aug 1st. After a one-year hiatus, the event was back in full swing. Our North Platte family and neighboring groups from Hershey and Gothenberg handled most of the preparations, with volunteers from Omaha and Lincoln assisting with daily activities. Eighty-five children attended day camp, and nightly services drew 150 to 200 people. Attendance was slightly lower than in past years, but the event was still wonderful and the children had a great time. Covenant will resume promoting the camp next year as it has in the past.


This was my first year serving as Overseer. Lead Pastor Stephen Simpkins has had the full reins of ministry since March, while my primary focus has been rebuilding the church and equipping the saints at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. The Simpkins experienced, for the first time, the challenges of organizing an event of this scale and will gain a better understanding of its technical aspects going forward. With people spread across the state, the Tulsa area in Oklahoma, and LaGrange, Illinois, the logistics can be challenging, but God always grants us wisdom and grace.


A busload of children traveled from Omaha to Lincoln and then on to the event. The workers and families involved in Campmeeting did a tremendous job, and this founding pastor could not be prouder. The Caldwells returned to minister to us — formerly from Crowley, TX, they now minister out of Shreveport, Louisiana. Thank you, Rev. and Mrs. Caldwell, for your wonderful ministry to both the youth and adults.


The Holy Spirit moved powerfully during the sessions, and God’s grace was evident in a profound way. We received many reports of God’s saving, healing, and miraculous power. On Saturday night, 22 adults and children were baptized. Amen. It was a wonderful time of fellowship as usual. God bless you all in your efforts.
