Call and Growth – Embracing God’s Invitation “As Jesus walked along the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon Peter and Andrew, casting their nets into the water. He said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.” — Matthew 4:18‑20 Today we resume our series on Enduring Christian Beliefs, focusing on the theme “Call and Growth.” In these verses we glimpse the very moment God extends a personal invitation—a call that transforms ordinary labor into divine purpose. Just as Peter and Andrew were called from the familiar rhythm of their fishing trade into a new vocation, each of us is invited to step out of comfort zones, trust God’s leading, and become apprentices in His service. This apprenticeship isn’t about perfection; it’s about willingness to learn, to be shaped, and to grow under the Master’s hand. Why this matters:
Come ready to hear, reflect, and respond—just as the first disciples did. May this message stir your heart toward the adventure God has prepared for you. Blessings, Jan Welch, Administrative Coordinator CGMF PS. Outline of sermon attached to blog post.
