Holding the Refrain: Why You Need to Hear This Past Sunday’s Message We had a wonderful time Saturday with a powerful Word on " The Rich Man and Wealth " from Matthew 19:23-30. That recording would normally be posted, but we had issues with the recording, so we have asked Tabernacle to share with us Pastor's Word from there. Here it is with notes, and in its entirety. At Tabernacle this past weekend, pastor ministered a foundational, deeply moving word. Diving into Psalm 136, 1 Chronicles 16, and Ezra 3, the message walks us through what it truly takes to build a life on the memories of God’s steadfast love. At the center of the sermon was a deep dive into the Hebrew word chesed—a love that refuses to let go, braided with loyalty, devotion, and tenacity. It is the love that keeps the promise. Our Founding Pastor traced how the ancient refrain, "For His mercy endures forever," was deliberately appointed by David before the ark, survived seventy years of Babylonian exile, and walked right out of the ruins of Jerusalem intact. When the foundation of the rebuilt temple was laid in Ezra 3, the older generation wept for what was lost while the younger generation shouted for joy—yet both sounds rose together wrapped around the exact same song. As we were reminded: holy memories aren't merely sentimental; they are structural. They are the reason you can stand in the middle of rubble, heartbreak, or transition and refuse to lose your song. The sermon wrapped with three practical building blocks to weave into your everyday life:
Whether you’re walking through a season of celebration, carrying heavy grief, or simply need to anchor your heart in God's faithfulness mid-week, this message is for you. Take some time today to listen, lean in, and let this truth sink into your bones.
