A New Mantle, As Covenant Expands Its Ministry.

A New Chapter Begins: Stepping In As Interim Pastor

For the past 20 or more years, I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside the faithful members of Covenant of Grace Ministry & Fellowship. In that space of time, countless prayers, shared meals, and unwavering support from beloved friends—Dr. Fred Dixon Jr., Dr. Eugene Rollerson, Dr. Dutch Boer and so many others has encouraged my soul. In these years I have ministered at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church, Our Saviour Episcopal ( North Platte, Nebraska ), Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Salem Baptist and others. I have truly been blest and seen God do extraordinary things. His Holy Spirit has been poured out, His Word taught and so many young and old have been called and equipped for ministry.

Last night, God placed a fresh mantle upon my shoulders: I have been called to serve as interim pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. This congregation, longing for steady leadership after a prolonged pastoral vacancy, now looks forward to a season of renewal, vision, and purpose.

I will continue to oversee and preach at Covenant as their founding Pastor. However, day to day ministry work will be led by Reverend Stephen Simpkins, Doctor Morgan and Reverend Paul Reynolds. I thank you family and Shepherd Leaders for your support in this labor of love.

A Nehemian Vision

Just as Nehemiah stood before the walls of Jerusalem with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other, I feel called to:
  • Rebuild—restoring the physical and spiritual foundations of the church, renewing spaces where worship, fellowship, and service can thrive.
  • Protect—guarding the Word of God and the hearts of the congregation against anything that would hinder the gospel’s advance.

With prayerful guidance, we will chart a path that honors the legacy of those who have gone before us while boldly stepping into the future God has prepared.

United in Prayer

I invite every believer—whether from Tabernacle, Greater New Hope, Covenant of Grace, or beyond—to join in earnest prayer:
  • For wisdom as we discern the next steps for the church’s ministries.
  • For unity among leaders, volunteers, and members as we rebuild together.
  • For divine provision—both spiritual and material—to sustain this work.
Your prayers, encouragement, and hands of service will be the cornerstone of this transformation.

Looking Ahead

In the weeks to come, we’ll gather for worship, host community outreach events, and launch initiatives that reflect Christ’s love for our neighborhood. Together, we’ll rekindle the fire of the Gospel, reaching out to those who have yet to hear its life‑changing message.

May God’s grace abound, and may His love overflow in every sermon, song, and act of compassion that flows from this revived house of worship.

Blessings in Christ,
